A Message From Our Board of Directors

September 2020

Dear Members:

As we head into the final months of the year, we want to thank you for your membership, and for placing your trust in California Credit Union as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together.

We have all faced unprecedented challenges and changes in our lives since March. Beyond health concerns, many of us are adapting to new ways of working while also balancing the needs of our families and at-home learning for our children. We take our responsibility to support you through any situation seriously so you can focus on what matters most – your health, security and families. At the onset of the pandemic, we quickly moved the majority of our team to work remotely. At the same time, we modified our branch services to help keep our members, team, and communities healthy. Our team has been dedicated to keeping our branches open as we work to serve you in the safest way possible in this evolving environment. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding, whether you have shifted to online or mobile banking, or supported our modified branch operations and safety procedures.

We have also been honored to offer a variety of assistance programs for those members affected financially by the pandemic. To date, we have deferred payments for more than 365 mortgage loans, 10,000 consumer loans, and 70 business loans. We have waived more than $325,000 in member fees. We have provided 567 small businesses with SBA PPP loans totaling more than $54 million, which helped save approximately 5,500 jobs across Southern California. And we have continued to support our communities with vital programs such as teacher grants, student scholarships, funding for distance learning, and other partnerships.

As we begin the final quarter of 2020, we are looking to finish out the year strong, ready to provide you with the very best in financial services. On behalf of the entire California Credit Union team, we again thank you for your membership. We remain here for you and wish you and your family a safe and healthy rest of the year.
