Grant Guidelines
Philanthropic donations will be made only to organizations, with the exception of our Student Scholarships. Organizations seeking a donation must complete the Donation Request Form below. All applications will be reviewed by the California Credit Union Foundation Board.
To be considered, organizations should meet the following criteria:
- Organization has 501(c)(3) status, is an accredited educational institution or recognized community support group that positively impacts individuals in our community in line with the Foundation’s areas of focus
- Organization conducts activities within Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange or San Diego counties
- Organization has been in operation five years or longer
California Credit Union Foundation will not provide support for:
- Programs, projects or events that benefit a specific individual, with the exception of our Student Scholarship program
- Sponsors of or to political or partisan organizations; for-profit organizations; religious groups or religion-based organizations
- A non-profit group’s administrative or operating costs
California Credit Union Foundation, a California non-profit public benefit corporation, applied for tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) on October 11, 2023 with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The application status is pending. The IRS typically issues the federal tax determination 9-12 months after filing the application. Once the determination letter is issued, all donations to the Foundation since its inception will be tax deductible to the donor to the fullest extent permitted by law. While the application is pending, the Foundation is permitted to begin solicitations. California Credit Union Foundation will inform donors once the federal tax determination letter is obtained.
