Teacher Grant

Have a great class project idea? Each Spring and Fall our credit union Awards 10 Teacher Grants of $500 Each.

We support teachers who want to make a difference with our bi-annual Teacher Grant Program. We are pleased to support the education community by offering our Teacher Grant Program. The Grant is designed to assist educators by funding innovative learning opportunities for their students.

Since the creation of the program in 2012, more than $55,000 has been awarded to schools throughout Los Angeles County. Schools benefitting from last year’s program used the funds towards initiatives such as special education, business concepts, solar energy, water conservation and literacy.

Annual College Scholarship Program

Since the creation of the scholarship program in 2005, our credit union has awarded more than $265,000 to students. Each year, our Annual College Scholarship Program provides 10 students with $1,000 each to pursue higher education. Eligible participants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and plans to attend an accredited college or university in following academic school year. Selection criteria also include academic performance, school or community involvement, a letter of recommendation, and an answer to a short essay question.

Deadline to apply for the scholarship is in early March of each year and winners will be announced in early April. The Annual College Scholarship Flyer will be available in January.

Rookie of the Year

Each year, California Credit Union joins with the Los Angeles Unified School District to select and acknowledge 18 recipients of the coveted award, "Rookie of the Year." This past August, these first-year teachers celebrated this acknowledgement at a special day at Dodger Stadium where they were presented with their awards in honor of their outstanding commitment and passion for their responsiblities as educators. Congratulations to the 2017 Rookies of the Year.
