In The Community

We were recently certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), enabling us to expand on our mission to improve lives in the communities we serve that need it most through critically needed access to capital and education programs.

Our Option Checking Account has been certified by the national Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund as meeting the benchmark Bank on National Account Standards. Through this program and others, we are bringing a new level of access and choice to underserved communities across Southern California.

We are proud to support Fleet Week San Diego whose mission is to honor, celebrate and thank the men and women of the military through public events and alliances that increase public awareness of the many contributions made by the Military and the Defense Community to the San Diego Region.

We are proud to support the Los Angeles and San Diego chapters of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity assists low-income, active military and veterans purchase a home or make improvements to their existing home by coordinating a collaboration of community volunteers and building suppliers.

We have been an active supporter of the USS Midway Museum since 2015, donating approximately $167,500 to further the organization’s youth and community programs, which include the Midway’s No Child Left Ashore Scholarship Fund and the Midway’s Leadership Academy.

Thanks to our members and team, we provided over 300 backpacks and school supplies to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego for students participating in Club programs across San Diego county.

We were excited to host Community Day at the Los Angeles Zoo for Pacoima Charter School, bringing a special Zoo experience to its students in a fun-filled and special one-of-a-kind tour.

Our Downey Branch represented California Credit Union during the HOPE Latina Empowerment Day event. We were proud to sponsor the event and support their mission.

We were thrilled to join the Los Angeles Unified School District in honoring the outstanding classified staff members at the Everyday Heroes Luncheon. Congratulations to all honorees!

Our DE&I Committee partnered with The Friendship Foundation to support families with children and young adults who live with disabilities. The Friendship foundation creates a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can thrive through engaging activities like sports, art, music and a variety of social programs which are designed to foster connection and camaraderie among peers.

Our volunteers assembled care packages for our troops with Operation Gratitude. Special thanks to the 8th Grade English Class at Sierra Vista Junior High for supporting our efforts with hand-written letters.

We were a Pioneer Sponsor at Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Celebrating Our Schools Imagine 2024 event, supporting the Daniel Webster Elementary Armenian Dual Language program.

Our DE&I Committee partnered with Reality Changers in support of their programs to prepare youth to become first-generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities.
